Box Office: Drishyam 2 goes past Rs. 6 crores mark again on Sunday, Bhediya too collects around Rs. 5 crores over the weekend

Sunday turned out to be yet another day for Drishyam 2 when it went past the Rs. 6 crores mark. This is also the last time in its lifetime run that it’s doing that since there would be expected drop on the weekdays and then in the coming weekend there would be Avatar: The Way of Water, to fight out.

Nonetheless, the film has covered a huge distance already with its Sunday haul of Rs. 6.16 crores taking it an overall score of Rs. 209.75 crores. In the process, the film has gone past the lifetime number of biggies like Housefull 4 [Rs. 208.50 crores], Golmaal Again [Rs. 205.70 crores], Good Newwz [Rs. 205.14 crores] and Happy New Year [Rs. 205 crores]. Several records have tumbled ever since Drishyam 2 released in theatres and this is only going to continue for many more days to come, especially till the arrival of Cirkus [December 23].

Meanwhile, Bhediya had a third weekend of Rs. 4.82 crores as it managed to keep collecting with new releases Salaam Venky, Maarich and Vadh hardly collecting anything. Combined weekend collections of these movies was leas than Rs. 2 crores and in that aspect Bhediya still did well to keep its neck above the water and accumulate close to Rs. 5 crores. As a result, the film currently stands at Rs. 61.49 crores. Now it would have really gone in the favour of the film had this been the first week total as that would have set the stage for the Rs. 100 Crore Club entry.

Nonetheless, the Varun Dhawan led film has got a few more days ahead of it to bring on some moolah and by the look of things a couple of crore will come in this week itself and then a little more may just trickle in even after the release of Avatar: The Way of Water to take it past the 65 crores mark.

Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
