Ed Sheeran’s Chennai concert turned out to be a memorable one for the audience present at the show after they witnessed a magical performance of the British singer along with music maestro AR Rahman. Several videos from the gig surfaced on social media featuring Rahman joining Sheeran on stage. The duo not only interacted with fans but also belted out a remix of their popular songs, ‘Shape Of You and Urvasi’. Ed Sheeran also took to his Instagram handle and expressed his gratitude for receiving an honour of sharing the stage with Rahman. ”What an honor @arrahman,” he wrote in the caption.

The British musician kickstarted his + – = / x India tour with a mesmerising performance in Pune on January 30. Sheeran took the stage donning a t-shirt that said ‘Pune’ celebrating the city and the crowd erupted in cheers! One of the highlights of the evening was when Sheeran paused for a moment to express his gratitude. He shared that he has performed twice in India, both times in Mumbai and was excited to bring his music to other cities this time.
He also expressed that every visit makes him feel like a tourist exploring this beautiful country and that he is always grateful for the opportunity to perform for the people of India. Singer-actor Dot., best known for The Archies, opened the India leg of British musician Ed Sheeran’s ‘The Mathematics’ tour. The Pune concert was also attended by England cricket team.
From skipper Jos Buttler to all-rounder Liam Livingstone, many cricketers from the touring party were spotted enjoying the gig. Jos, while speaking with the team of BookMyShow Live, expressed his excitement about touring in India. He said, “I have been coming to India for a long time. It is the best place to tour. Their love for the game is unmatched as compared to other places in the world. It is always a pleasure to come back, for IPL etc and to see the support of fans. Also, delighted to be here (at Ed’s concert). Great that the stars aligned and we were in Pune at the same time,” Jos added.
