A Minecraft Movie has surged past yet another worldwide box office milestone. The hit movie, which is inspired by the popular video game that gives it its title, stars Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, and Jennifer Coolidge. The Minecraft Movie release started off with a bang, earning the highest-grossing opening weekend ever for a video game movie before surging past a number of huge milestones. During its third frame, over Easter weekend, it surged past $700 million thanks to huge grosses both in domestic theaters and international markets.

Per Variety, as of Sunday morning, A Minecraft Movie is projected to earn a cumulative global box office total of $816 million by the end of its fourth weekend in theaters. This will see it easily clearing the $800 million milestone, maintaining its place as the second highest-grossing movie of the year behind the Chinese smash hit Ne Zha 2 ($1.898 billion).
