The Godzilla x Kong sequel has added a Stranger Things star to its Monsterverse cast. A direct sequel to 2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, the upcoming Monsterverse movie is directed by Grant Sputore with a script written by David Callaham, and will introduce several new human characters alongside the two titular titans as they “face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.” The Godzilla x Kong sequel’s cast already includes newcomers Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, and Delroy Lindo. Dan Stevens reprises his role as Trapper from The New Empire.
Now, another actor is joining the Monsterverse. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Modine has closed a deal to join the cast of the upcoming Godzilla x Kong sequel. Modine will reportedly play a general, and production is expected to begin in April in Australia.
