Jamie Lee Curtis Starring & Producing New Psychological Horror Movie With Severance Actor In Lead Role

Jamie Lee Curtis is still inseparable from the horror genre. The actress made her film debut and rose to fame for her role as Laurie Strode in John Carpenter’s iconic 1978 slasher, Halloween. A massive critical and commercial success, the movie established Curtis as a scream queen and paved the way for leading roles in the horror films The Fog, Prom Night, and Terror Train, which were all released in 1980, followed by Roadgames in 1981. She reprised the role of Laurie Strode for six Halloween sequels, ultimately wrapping up the character’s arc in director David Gordon Green’s reboot trilogy.

In recent years, Curtis has also started producing projects, many of which she also stars in, via her Comet Pictures label. Some of her first executive producer credits were on David Gordon Green’s Halloween reboot trilogy, which includes 2018’s Halloween, 2021’s Halloween Kills, and 2022’s Halloween Ends. Curtis also produces and stars in the Prime Video series, The Sticky, and the upcoming Freakier Friday, a sequel to 2003’s Freaky Friday. Now, Curtis has found a new horror film to star in and produce.

Our Take On Britt Lower Starring In Sender

The Severance Star Deserves More Opportunities

Britt Lower as Helly looking nervous standing in the elevator in Severance's season 1 finale

Britt Lower has received rave reviews for her dual roles as Helly R and Helena Eagan in Severance, Apple TV’s hit series that just finished its second season and was renewed for a third. In turn, Lower deserves to be awarded with more opportunities. Severance is very much a psychological thriller, so Sender, described as a psychological horror film, seems perfectly suited for expanding her film career in a similar sandbox.
