R-Rated Animated Movie That Netflix Saved From Warner Bros. Gets First Images & Release Date

Netflix unveils first images and a release date for an R-rated animated movie saved from Warner Bros. The movie, titled Fixed, had its distribution rights returned to Sony Pictures Animation after Warner Bros. removed it from its slate last year as part of the studio’s effort to shift away from animation. Fixed was also the second animated movie following the shelving of Coyote Vs. Acme to be cast aside.

Netflix now shares first-look images and confirmed that Fixed will come to the streaming platform on August 13. The 2-D animated movie from five-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Genndy Tartakovsky stars Adam Devine (Pitch Perfect), Idris Elba (Sonic the Hedgehog 3), and Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along) in a story about a quick-witted dog who discovers that he’s about to be neutered and decides to go on one last adventure before the procedure. What This Means For Fixed

Fixed Blends Adult Humor With Heart

The images tease the vibrant and exaggerated animation style in filmmaker Genndy Tartakovsky’s upcoming movie. In the same press release, the director, co-writer, and producer shared that the inspiration for the story originated from his best friends, who make him laugh “like nothing else.” With Fixed, he aims to “translate” the humor in his life into “caricatured and exaggerated animation.” While Fixed in its early stagse drew comparison to “rated R Lady and the Tramp,” it has since then developed its own unique identity.
