Ralph Fiennes’ Conclave became the fourth 2025 Best Picture nominee to cross a major global box office milestone ahead of the Oscars. The movie follows Cardinal Thomas Lawrence (Fiennes) organizing a papal conclave to elect a new Pope, only to learn many of the candidates have a variety of secrets that keep them from being eligible for the role. The cast of Conclave also includes Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Carlos Diehz, and Isabella Rossellini among many others. The film has been nominated for Best Picture at the 97th Academy Awards, alongside seven other nominations.
Now, Variety has confirmed that Conclave has crossed $100 million at the global box office, becoming the fourth film nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars to do so. The movie’s successful milestone came four months after its initial release, showcasing the worldwide longevity of the film’s performance. Director Edward Berger spoke about its earnings, explaining how grateful he is to see the film reach such heights. Check out what Berger had to say below:
