A new Superman teaser has been released. James Gunn’s DC Universe is full-on promoting its first film now that there are less than two months left for the release of the DCU Superman movie. While the studio previously released teasers, behind-the-scenes videos, and more, Gunn recently took to social medi to claim that fans had yet to watch the Superman “trailer 1.0.” Before they do so, DC has shared a new teaser that shows the hero in battle with a mysteriours villain and teases the Superman movie’s story.

The main focus of the teaser is on the first look at a new villain. Previous Superman promo material had referred to the armored foe as the “Hammer of Boravia.” The villain’s mysterious nature will likely play into the film’s overall story, and there are already theories about how he could turn out to be one of the Superman movie cast’s stars in disguise. Lex Luthor also appears to be in a key location in the teaser.

The DCU Movie Will Have Plenty Of Action For Fans Of The Man Of Steel

While Superman merch and promotional material have referred to the armored villain Corenswet’s Man of Steel faces in the new teaser as the “Hammer of Boravia,” there are no more details about who that character might be. Given his bulky look, Hoult’s Lex Luthor could get the idea for a comics-accurate power suit from him. The metal-suit villain could also be working for Luthor in the film. Hoult’s DCU character has been confirmed as Superman‘s main villain, so it would make sense if he was behind other threats.

While he does not appear in the footage, Superman will have another villain. The character wears a black suit with an “U” on his chest. Many believe him to be Ultraman, and he could be the one inside the metal armor, similar to how Superman & Lois had a Doomsday fake-out with Bizarro being inside the suit instead. What the teaser does show is that Hoult’s Lex Luthor makes his way to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. With the hero’s biggest foe at one of his homes, all hell could break loose depending on what he finds there.

I think the new Superman teaser focused enough on the movie’s action sequences to make me even more excited for the DCU’s first film. I can’t wait to know more about its story when the full trailer releases, but the action with the Hammer of Boravia and David Corenswet’s Superman feels impactful and thrilling. If the character moments are as exciting as the DC movie’s visuals and action are, then I believe we are in for a treat. Based on its new teaser, Superman confirms it is an event one should not miss.
