Three MCU shows have been paused after Marvel Television’s major restructuring, which has already shown its effects on Daredevil: Born Again‘s extensive reshoots. Marvel Studios’ MCU slate includes several projects deep in production, such as Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man 4, as well as projects still stuck in development or pre-production, like Armor Wars and Blade. Meanwhile, Marvel’s X-Men movie is practically guaranteed despite being scheduled to release after the Multiverse Saga ends. Other MCU projects haven’t gotten off the ground, and a few others look unlikely to ever materialize.

As reported by Deadline, Marvel Television has paused three MCU series that had been in early stages of development: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror Inc. are currently on indefinite hold. This decision reportedly comes from Marvel’s recent overhaul of its television strategy, which aims to vet projects more carefully. In a 2024 interview with ScreenRant, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum confirmed that the studio is “really being careful” about each show’s quality prior to their release, meaning that Marvel will scrap many project ideas in order to focus on stronger titles.
