Dark Winds Season 4 Casts Two New Characters, Including FBI Agent “In Deep” With Leaphorn, Chee & Bernadette

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Dark Winds season 3.Two new characters are joining the cast of Dark Winds season 4, including a new FBI agent who infiltrates Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon), Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon), and Bernadette Manuelito’s (Jessica Matten) group. The ending of Dark Winds season 3 had quite a bit of setup for season 4. Joe will have to earn Emma’s (Deanna Allison) love back, Chee and Manuelito will have to see if their relationship can last, and they’ll have a new mystery to investigate in Dark Winds season 4. Now, a new report confirms they’ll have at least one other problem to juggle as well.

A report from Deadline confirmed that Isabel DeRoy-Olson and Luke Barnett are joining the cast of Dark Winds in season 4. DeRoy-Olson will play Billie Tsosie, a Navajo girl described as resourceful and wanting “nothing more than the freedom to connect with her people outside of her boarding school.” Barnett will play FBI Special Agent Toby Shaw, who “finds himself in deep with Leaphorn, Chee, and Bernadette.” It’s not yet clear how Shaw fits into the story of Dark Winds season 4, but Tsosie will likely be the missing Navajo teenager Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito have to search for throughout the season.

What Dark Winds Season 4’s New Casting Means For The AMC Show

Dark Winds’ History Of Strong Casting & Unexpected Twists Will Continue In Season 4

Since the beginning, Dark Winds has been one of the best-casted shows on television, and it looks like season 4 will continue that trend. Both DeRoy-Olson and Barnett are tremendous actors in their own rights, and they’ll be joining the already impressive cast of Dark Winds season 4, which includes Franka Potente as a guest star. The core cast of Dark Winds is fantastic, but those strong supporting roles give them the right material to shine as brightly as they do. Dark Winds clearly understands how important it is to have a deeply talented cast.

The casting news also means that Dark Winds season 4’s story is finally starting to take shape. Previous reports have confirmed that Dark Winds season 4 will cover “ghost sickness” and a girl who runs away from a Navajo boarding school, and there’s now both a face and a name to put to that central idea. However, Barnett’s casting as an FBI agent muddies the waters at the same time that DeRoy-Olson’s clears things up, and it seems that Dark Winds season 4 will have just as many unexpected twists as its predecessors. In short, this is very good news for Dark Winds season 4.

Every new piece of information I hear about Dark Winds season 4 makes me even more excited, and this casting news is no different. DeRoy-Olson and Barnett are both talented actors, and I’m sure they’ll be able to enhance Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito’s story in Dark Winds season 4. I am a bit confused by the decision to introduce yet another FBI agent into the mix – Dark Winds has now featured four separate FBI agents as main characters, including Chee – but I’m sure the show has a reason for that decision. Most importantly, I’m confident that Dark Winds season 4 will live up to my very high expectations.
