Harlan Coben’s Next Netflix Mystery Show Run Away Gets First Set Images

Harlan Coben’s Next Netflix Mystery Show Run Away Gets First Set Images

Harlan Coben’s next Netflix mystery show, titled Run Away, has gotten its first on-set images as production continues on the upcoming adaptation. Based on Coben’s 2019 thriller novel of the same name, the story follows Simon (James Nesbitt), a father searching for his daughter, Paige (Ellie de Lange) after she runs away from home. Adaptations of Coben’s books have become a mainstay of Netflix, after the 2024 miniseries Fool Me Once rose to Number 8 on the streamers’ list of most-watched English-language shows of all time. The streamer released another miniseries based on his book Missing You in January 2025.

Now, Digital Spy has released new set images from Run Away, offering a look at Nesbitt portraying Simon. The photos show his character’s face covered in blood, with another image showing his character approaching someone being taken away on a hospital stretcher. Cars can also be seen behind him as he panics over the person being taken away. One last image shows him standing next to Minnie Driver, who plays Ingrid, the pair speaking to someone with their back turned to the camera.

What Run Away’s First Images Say About The Upcoming TV Show

The Series Is Promising A Thrilling New Story

Coben’s TV adaptations began with the 2018 thriller miniseries Safe, also debuting on Netflix like his upcoming show. Run Away is one of three shows based on the author’s books currently in development, the other two being a Spanish-language adaptation of Caught, and the US-based I Will Find You. Much like his previous two shows for the streaming platform, the Nesbitt-led show is being filmed in the UK, with production having started in January 2025.

Author Harlan Coben has had many of his novels adapted into television shows over the years, and seven more books should get the same treatment.

The set photos indicate a major event is going to happen that results in someone Simon cares about getting hurt, as evident by how he approaches the person on the stretcher. The blood on his face and cars in the background signal it’s happening near a road, though it’s not clear if some kind of car crash was involved. While Missing You had a lower Rotten Tomatoes score than Fool Me Once, Run Away‘s unique storyline is already teasing a thrilling story. Whether it will measure up to the 2024 series’ success, however, remains to be seen.

Run Away is being developed by Danny Bocklehurst, who also adapted Fool Me Once.
