“It’s Inhuman, What He Does”

“It’s Inhuman, What He Does”

Reacher season 3 newcomer Olivier Richters has opened up about Alan Ritchson’s commitment to the action series, comparing him to the character he portrays. Richters is joining the cast of Reacher season 3 as Paulie, a massive guard working for Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall), who Reacher is investigating. The pair is hinted to be working together when the main character goes undercover when the season begins, but the pair are destined to face off with one another as the show progresses. This makes their characters two opposing forces destined for conflict.

Speaking with Empire Magazine, Richters praised Ritchson’s commitment to Reacher, comparing his work routine in season 3 to that of the main character himself. The newcomer explained how awestruck he was by the lead actor’s dedication to learning his lines, shooting, eating, and training constantly every day, keeping up with what seemed like a demanding routine. He said it’s the type of devotion he wants to aspire to in his own career. Check out what Richters had to say below:

I said to [Alan] as a joke, but it’s kind of true, that he’s really Reacher in real life. He has so many lines to learn, he has to perform, he has to eat continuously, he has to show up for the fight-training after filming all day. It’s inhuman, what he does. It’s a level I can only dream of.

The Leading Actor Is Doing An Impressive Job

Richters’ statement emphasizes just how much work it takes to portray the show’s lead character, something evident in the years of dedication Ritchson has already shown. The actor needs to maintain a large, muscular build for his character, bulking up beyond 240 pounds for season 2, putting on more muscle in the process. While his exact weight for season 3 is unknown, it’s clearly still hovering in that same area, something he’ll likely continue to maintain before Reacher season 4 begins filming. Keeping up his stature while acting proves his multilayered talent in bringing the character to life.

The Best Part About Reacher Season 3 Is The One Thing Separating It From Seasons 1 & 2

Reacher season 3 is fascinating in more ways than one, but the best part about it is the one and only thing that separates it from seasons 1 and 2.

This will continue to be evident as season 3 plays out, with Richters’ praise for Ritchson emphasizing how much he embodies the role, even when not in front of the camera. It’s something he’ll be able to do as the franchise continues to expand, not just with new seasons of Reacher, but also with the upcoming Neagley spinoff, focusing on Maria Sten’s character from the original show. While it’s unclear if he’ll be showing up in that series, he’s still become the face of what’s becoming a successful franchise for Prime Video, reflective of his impressive dedication.

Reacher season 3 is based on Lee Child’s seventh Jack Reacher novel, Persuader.
