Following the huge backlash from followers after The Simpsons season 36 finale’s stunning dying of Marge Simpson, government producer Matt Selman has given an official response.
Chatting with Selection, Selman reminded outraged viewers that The Simpsons has retconned deaths earlier than and that “there isn’t a canon,” which means Marge’s dying shouldn’t be set in stone:
“Clearly because the ‘The Simpsons’ future episodes are all speculative fantasies, they’re all completely different each time,” Selman mentioned. “Marge will most likely by no means be lifeless ever once more. The one place Marge is lifeless is in a single future episode that aired six weeks in the past.”
