Netflix’s True Story Series With 79% Rotten Tomatoes Score Lands On Global Charts After Just Days Of Its Release

Netflix’s True Story Series With 79% Rotten Tomatoes Score Lands On Global Charts After Just Days Of Its Release

Netflix continues to be a go-to destination for movies and TV shows, and the streaming service offers an array of programming options across a variety of genres. Based-on-a-true-story movies and TV shows are more popular than ever, and Netflix has released a handful of titles in recent years that have become successful in this niche. The Monsters anthology series has been popular, as have projects like The Good Nurse (2022) and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019).

Not all of Netflix’s movies and TV shows based on real life are dark and twisted tales of murder, however. Self Made: Inspired by the Life of C.J. Walker is an uplifting series based on real events, while Unbelievable, based on a newspaper article, explores a real-life rape case. Now, Netflix has released another series inspired by real events, and it’s making waves with viewers.

Apple Cider Vinegar Has Become A Global Hit

The Netflix Series Is Excelling With Viewers

Apple Cider Vinegar

has ascended to Netflix’s global top 10 chart only days after its release. Created by Samantha Strauss and promoted as a “true-ish story, based on a lie,” the limited series stars Kaitlyn Dever as Belle Gibson, a wellness guru with a large social media following who fakes a cancer diagnosis and then begins using her platform to promote alternative self-care therapies as her cure. Apple Cider Vinegar reviews have been generally positive from critics and the show, which also stars Alycia Debnam-Carey and Aisha Dee, currently has a 79% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

What Apple Cider Vinegar’s Top 10 Position Means For The Show

The Series Has The Makings Of A Hit

Considering Apple Cider Vinegar just came out, it’s not entirely unexpected that it’s performing well on Netflix, but it is impressive just how much ground it covered in only three days. The real test for the series will be how it fares in the coming weeks, and its position on the charts next week and the week after will indicate just how big of a hit Netflix has on its hands.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the limited series has an audience score of 77%, which isn’t glowing but is still positive. The fact that viewers are generally enjoying the series and Apple Cider Vinegar‘s depiction of Belle’s life bodes well for its viewership performance over the coming weeks. Since Apple Cider Vinegar is a limited series that tells a complete story from beginning to end, it’s unlikely that the show’s viewership success will translate into a season 2.
