New Apple TV+ Biopic Series Debuts With Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score

New Apple TV+ Biopic Series Debuts With Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score

A steamy new Apple TV+ biopic series has debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a perfect score. The streaming platform is an over-the-top streaming service owned by the technology company Apple that debuted in late 2019. They have become known for their star-studded original content, which includes both movies and series. Some of the most notable exclusive Apple TV+ movies are the sci-fi horror romance The Gorge, starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, the action-comedy Ghosted, starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, and the Christmas musical Spirited, starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds.

There are an even larger number of popular Apple TV+ shows in their library. Some of their biggest hits are the sports comedy Ted Lasso, the heady sci-fi series Severance, the drama The Morning Show, and the dramedy Shrinking. They have also released a number of historical dramas and biopic series, such as the Lincoln assassination drama Manhunt, the Benjamin Franklin biopic Franklin, the Huey P. Newton series The Big Cigar, the fashion drama The New Look (which follows Christian Dior and Coco Chanel), and a new series that has made a splash on Rotten Tomatoes.

Carême Has Earned Glowing Reviews

The Show Depicts The Life Of History’s First Celebrity Chef

Carême has won over a number of critics. The new French-language Apple TV+ miniseries, which is based on Ian Kelly’s nonfiction book Cooking for Kings: The Life of Antonin Carême, The First Celebrity Chef, follows the life of Antonin Carême (Benjamin Voisin), a popular chef from the Napoleonic era who was used as a political spy. The historical TV series depicts the web of seduction, political scandal, and intrigue that was spun around the young culinary master.

Carême also stars Lyna Khoudri (The French Dispatch) and Jérémie Renier (Saint Laurent).

Now, Rotten Tomatoes has aggregated enough reviews of Carême to give the series an official Tomatometer score. While this score could fluctuate if more reviews are added, at the time of writing, seven different critics’ reviews have earned the show a perfect 100% score. Of the reviews that have scores attached, the average rating is 4 out of 5. So far, not enough audience reviews have been aggregated for it to have an official audience score on the Popcornmeter just yet.

What This Means For Carême

The Apple TV+ Show Stands Out

This 100% score is significant because, while Apple TV+ has many shows that have won over critics, very few maintain perfect scores. For instance, one of their highest-rated series, the spy drama Slow Horses, only has a 98% score, while the Emmy-nominated series Pachinko has 97% and Severance has 96%. Carême stands among a rare few titles, such as the German drama Where’s Wanda? and the wine-centric series Drops of God, to have a perfect score on the aggregator platform.

Carême airs on Apple TV+ on Wednesdays.
