New Ghosts Images Reveal Superstore Star As A Guest Who Can See The Dead

New images from Ghosts season 4, episode 21 have revealed a Superstore star arriving as a guest who can see the dead, teasing his interactions with spirits. Ghosts season 4 has featured a number of unique ideas surrounding the Woodstone B&B’s deceased residents, including some that allow more than just Sam (Rose McIver) to see them. For a brief period, her husband, Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) was able to see the ghosts, but it was only a temporary ability. Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) is able to be seen by the living on St. Patrick’s Day after accepting her Irish heritage.

Now, new images from TV Insider reveal the arrival of a new guest in Ghosts season 4, episode 21, portrayed by Superstore star Ben Feldman. He will be arriving as Kyle, someone who can also see ghosts just like Sam can. Based on the images, it seems their newfound bond over being able to see the B&B’s guests will test Jay, who might get jealous of how close they are because of their abilities. Check out the new images for the episode, airing Thursday, May 1, below:

What Ghosts Season 4, Episode 21’s New Images Mean For The Show

Sam Now Has Someone Else Her Powers Connect To

While Jay seeing the ghosts happened in season 4, episodes 8 and 9, it was a temporary change that eventually reverted back to the status quo. This means Sam remains the only person who can always see the deceased residents of Woodstone, something that has only changed in smaller instances throughout the show. Kyle’s arrival, however, means someone else can finally see what she can, something that could result in a good friendship between the pair. However, it might also make Jay feel left out.

Flower’s Ghosts Season 4, Episode 18 Plot Twist Was Foreshadowed 6 Episodes Earlier

Although Flowers hasn’t gotten much screen time recently, her plot in Ghosts season 4 episode 18 pays off one gag from six episodes earlier perfectly.

Based on the new images, it seems like Sam and Kyle will be interacting with the B&B’s spirits rather frequently, while Jay is sidelined by not being able to see them. It’s unclear if the new guest has any ulterior motives, too, but the characters in Ghosts are likely to notice if that’s truly the case. It seems like the episode will deal with Jay the layers of jealousy that might come from not having that same connection with his wife as Kyle does because of their shared abilities.

Our Take On Ghosts Season 4, Episode 21’s New Images

A Major Way For The Show’s Lore To Expand

While Kyle’s arrival will no doubt trigger a storyline for the episode itself, it also means Sam isn’t the only person in the world who can see ghosts naturally. This opens the door for a deeper exploration of the series’ lore, including a possible expansion on what makes someone able to see spirits. With Ghosts season 4, episode 21 offering a promising story thanks to Feldman’s notable appearance, the show can embrace new ideas that could be long-standing for the series.

New episodes of Ghosts air Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
