Reacher star Alan Ritchson has teased his return in a series of behind-the-scenes photos from season 4 and the new Neagley spinoff series. Officially renewed for season 4 before Reacher season 3’s 2025 release, there isno official confirmation which Jack Reacher book will form the basis of the show’s next season. However, original author Lee Childs has already expressed his interest in seeing 2017’s The Midnight Line adapted. Meanwhile, Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley is also set to lead her own spinoff show, with filming officially getting underway in February this year.
Taking to Instagram, Ritchson offered fans a number of behind-the-scenes photos taken from both the Neagley set and detailing his preparations for Reacher season 4. Ritchson explained that the first three images were taken from his set visit to Sten’s new spinoff show, who he claimed was “absolutely crushing it.” The star also featured images taken with director MJ Basset, the Neagley cast and Childs.
Meanwhile, Ritchson’s other photos detailed his preparations for Reacher season 4, including the stuntwork for what he described as “the most intensely physical season yet.” The actor was also quick to quip about the effort put into determining the single outfit that his character will wear for the majority of the season. What Alan Ritchson’s Photos Mean For Prime Video’s Reacher Universe
It Is Curious That Ritchson’s Photos Were Not Of His Own Neagley Cameo
Serving as the first Prime Video series to top the Nielsen streaming rankings, the gritty action series has repeatedly proven itself a hit with critics and audiences alike. With the success of the show’s first two seasons enough to prompt the streamer to commit not only to Reacher season 4 ahead of season 3’s release, but also to greenlight an entirely new spinoff series, it would seem that Prime Video has a great deal of confidence in the property’s ongoing appeal and potential longevity.

Does Neagley Love Reacher? Why They Never Get Together
Amazon’s Reacher may not explicitly mention whether Reacher and Neagley are in love but some details in the show reveal what they think of each other.
What is interesting, however, is that Ritchson’s photos were taken from what appears to be a friendly set visit, rather than a day spent filming his own appearance on the show. While Sten’s fan-favourite character will rightfully be the central focus of Neagley, it is widely expected that Ritchson’s Reacher will appear at some stage, even if only for a brief cameo. With the pair’s undeniable onscreen chemistry and the enduring loyalty between both former members of the 110th Special Investigations Unit, it would be a considerable oversight not to have Ritchson appear.
Our Take On Reacher’s Place In Neagley
The Spinoff Offers A Rare Chance To Turn The Tables
While Ritchson’s post does not reveal anything his potential role in Neagley, most fans would like to see the spinoff reverse the relationship previously established in Reacher. Despite having an enlarged role in Reacher season 2, for the most part, Sten’s character was relegated to that of a distant comrade called in to aid Reacher whenever his adventures became too much for him to handle alone. Having Neagley turn the tables, and seeing Reacher briefly come in to offer his aid in a time of need would be the perfect starting point for the franchise’s first spinoff.
