Sesame Street finds a new streaming home after Warner Bros. Discovery decided not to renew its deal with HBO Max. As part of a strategy to shift to adult and family programs, new episodes of the beloved series will not stream on the platform, although some of the existing Sesame Street library will remain available there until 2027. New episodes will run on PBS and the PBS Kids apps.

Now, new and old episodes of Sesame Street are coming to Netflix later this year. There is no official date yet, but the new, reimagined 56th season and 90 hours’ worth of previous episodes are expected to arrive on the streaming platform at the same time they arrive on PBS and the PBS Kids app. The streamer also teased a fresh format change in the new season, centering around one 11-minute story, to focus on character-driven fun. Meanwhile, Peppa Pig season 7 is now streaming on Netflix as well.

More to come…
