S.W.A.T. star Shemar Moor will return to the franchise, as his character Hondo is set to star in spinoff show S.W.A.T. EXILES.
Per TV Line, Hondo’s story is far from over, with the character set to head up spinoff show S.W.A.T. EXILES, which will introduce a new generation of characters. Sony Pictures Television confirmed development of the show on Sunday (May 18) night, which will see Hondo pulled out of forced retirement to lead an experimental unit made up of untested young recruits, following a high-profile mission going wrong. Production on the 10-episode first season is set to begin this summer in Los Angeles, with Jason Ning serving as showrunner.
