Sheriff Country Set Photos Reveal First Look At Mickey & Sharon’s Return As Filming Begins On Fire Country Spinoff

Sheriff Country gets a big update, as lead star Morena Baccarin shares photos from the set, with filming underway. The first Fire Country spinoff will see Baccarin reprise the role of Mickey Fox, the step-sister of Sharon (Diane Farr) and a Sheriff’s Sergeant. Although she only appeared in a single episode of the main series so far, Mickey will soon step into the spotlight.

Baccarin shared some photos from the set of Sheriff Country, showing the Deadpool & Wolverine star standing and posing with Farr. The photos also show the dark exterior, with the two actors seemingly filming in the woods. It may bring to mind a scene from Baccarin’s appearance on Fire Country, with Mickey and Sharon running in the woods. The caption, in any case, reads: “TV sisters and more!!! Sheriff Country centers on Sheriff Mickey Fox (Baccarin). Described as straightforward, the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief investigates crimes while patrolling the town of Edgewater and dealing with her ex-con father. She also has to contend with a mysterious incident involving her daughter. Although there is no official premiere date, Sheriff Country is expected to debut on CBS later this year.

The spinoff has already cast Preacher and Deadwood alum W. Earl Brown as Mickey and Sharon’s father. The character is described as lovable, although ultimately unreliable. Sheriff Country’s first episode will be written by Fire Country co-creators Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, with fellow creator and Fire Country lead Max Thieriot contributing to the story. Promised Land creator Matt Lopez will serve as showrunner.

With filming now underway, it can be expected that more casting announcements will follow in the coming weeks and months. That will include Mickey’s daughter, which should prove to be interesting since Sharon and Mickey had a falling out over Bode (Thieriot).
