A major The Flash star addresses the possibility of reprising their DC role following the Arrowverse’s conclusion. After Arrow‘s massive success, The Flash premiered in 2014 to expand the then-flourishing Arrowverse and transform it into a giant, interconnected TV franchise. The Flash ran for nine seasons and nine years, introducing many of the Scarlet Speedster’s famous and lesser-known allies and enemies, as well as a few original characters who earned the hearts of viewers.
In an interview with People, The Flash star Carlos Valdes reveals he isn’t interested in returning as Cisco Ramón. Valdes explains that, while he looks back on his time in the Arrowverse “with fondness and nostalgia,” he prefers to leave that chapter of his life and career closed. That said, Valdes finds his DC experience “so illuminating and so joyful.” Read Carlos Valdes’ full comments below:
“I do and don’t. I’ve spent enough years away from The Flash and the character to be able to look back on that experience with fondness and nostalgia. It would be fun to revisit that because I’ve spent enough time away from it, for sure. At the same time, it’s kind of like looking at naked baby photos. You’re looking at the thing and you’re like, ‘Wow, that was a long time ago,’ and that was that, for all of its joys and drawbacks, warts and all, and it was fun. But that was back then and this is now.
I’m so grateful for the experience, and it was so illuminating and so joyful in so many respects. I really felt like I gave it the time … I think I was just ready to keep expanding as a person and as an actor. I love it, I’m grateful for it. Do I want to go back to it? Not really.”
The Arrowverse’s Character Portrayals Are All Unlikely To Return
Despite his affection for the character and his appreciation for the franchise, Carlos Valdes has made it clear he isn’t interested in reprising his role as Cisco Ramón anytime soon. The Arrowverse wrapped up conclusively in 2023 when it gave each major character — including the long-deceased Oliver Queen — a fitting farewell. Following the Arrowverse’s clear ending and the end of DC TV with Superman & Lois season 4’s cancelation, it’s unlikely that any Arrowverse character will ever return.

I Totally Agree With Grant Gustin About The Flash Scene He Didn’t Like & Tried To Get Changed
Grant Gustin spoke out about one of the worst scenes to appear in The Flash, and honestly, he makes a great point that makes me wish he had been heard
The DCEU’s exploration of the multiverse in The Flash provided a final chance for the Arrowverse to receive a new chapter. But despite the fact that Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen met Ezra Miller’s Flash in a previous Arrowverse crossover, Andy Muschietti’s The Flash completely ignored the Arrowverse, and the DCEU came to an end not long afterward. Now, the DCU is setting the foundations for a long-running movie and TV franchise, and both the Arrowverse and the DCEU are unlikely to be acknowledged.
