The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 Casting Update Confirms The Return Of Two Key Characters

The latest casting update for The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 confirms the return of two important characters. Following the ending of The Lincoln Lawyer season 3, which saw Manuel Garcia-Rulfo’s Mickey Haller arrested for murder, the hit Netflix drama will now see the lead character fighting for his life on the outside. It’s a big enough risk to warrant the presence of Mickey’s ex-wife Maggie, as Neve Campbell will be back as a full-time cast member, but there will also be several other familiar faces.

Deadline confirms that The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 will bring back Elliott Gould as David “Legal” Siegel and Krista Warner as Hayley Haller. It is also reported that Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jason O’Mara, Javon Johnson, and Chef Nancy Silverton. All four are expected to appear in a guest-starring capacity, with character descriptions offering insight into the characters they’ll play.

Chriqui, seen recently in Superman & Lois as Lana Lang, has the role of Jeanine Ferrigno. She’s the girlfriend of a local gangster who finds herself caught in a criminal enterprise, giving information pivotal to Mickey’s defense. O’Mara, who played Patriot in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., will portray Maggie’s boyfriend Jack Gilroy. He’s an orthopedic surgeon who’s described as being comfortable in his own skin, specializing in sports medicine and working with promising athletes.

Johnson, who has appeared in Tyler Perry’s The Oval, has the role of Carter Gates. The character is described as a decent and hard-working business owner. After turning his life around during his troubled youth, Gates is now accused of murder. As for Silverton, a renowned chef, she will play herself in a cameo.

What The Latest Casting Update Means For The Lincoln Lawyer

It’ll Be A Very Large Cast

Along with the confirmed additions, it was previously announced that The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 will welcome Kyle Richards, Jason Butler Harner, Scott Lawrence, Sasha Alexander, and Constance Zimmer. They all function differently in the story, with Zimmer and NCIS alum Alexander functioning as adversaries for Mickey. Alexander will play an FBI agent who’s leaning on Mickey, while Zimmer will play the prosecutor on his case. Richards, meanwhile, will share screen time with Izzy, ensuring that the supporting character will have some screen time of her own.

The latest update teases potential tension between Maggie and Mickey, even as she’ll be present for his case. It is also no surprise that Mickey’s daughter, Hayley, will be present. But he will be losing one ally. Andrea Freeman, the friendly prosecutor played by Yaya DaCosta, is confirmed not to be appearing in season 4. There was a potential for a relationship between Andrea and Mickey, though that wasn’t explored. He may bond with the new addition, Gates, since both are accused of murder.

Our Take On The Lincoln Lawyer Castings

The Show May Be Getting Supersized

Even though some actors may not appear in every episodes, with some possibly showing up for a few scenes, it does seem like the hit Netflix series has enough characters to warrant a longer episode count or at least longer runtimes to accommodate the new Lincoln Lawyer cast. The legal drama is quietly one of Netflix’s most popular titles, so viewers would likely welcome it.
