Timothy Olyphant admitted that he couldn’t get through one scene in The Office because he couldn’t stop laughing at Steve Carell. The cast of The Office includes Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, Ed Helms, Angela Kinsey, and B.J. Novak. Olyphant had a minor role in The Office and appeared in two episodes of season 7.

Appearing on the Office Ladies podcast, which Fischer and Kinsey host, Olyphant reveals that he could hardly get through one scene because he couldn’t stop laughing at Carell while filming The Office season 7, episode 5, titled “The Sting.” The scene Olyphant is referring to is when Michael Scott prevents Olyphant’s character, Danny Cordray, from leaving the building after he discovers that the Dunder Mifflin employees are trying to steal his sales tactics. I don’t remember anything difficult about the show, other than I do remember laughing. I’m sure I screwed up what would have been a really good scene because with Carell where I just couldn’t stop laughing. It was so intense and funny, and there’s a little bit of disappointment still there, that I could not keep a straight face. He’s incredible. He’s fully committed. And I’m quite certain, I haven’t seen it, you know, that I’m the one busting up more than he is.

Olyphant had a minor but memorable role in The Office. In his debut episode, it is revealed that Danny Cordray is a feared paper salesman from Osprey Paper. In the aforementioned scene, Michael actually manages to convince Danny to work for Dunder Mifflin instead, which leads to him also appearing in season 7’s Halloween episode.

Olyphant is a memorable guest star on The Office due to his role in season 7, episode 6, titled “Costume Contest.” This is one of The Office’s best Halloween episodes, and Danny plays an interesting role in it since it is revealed that he went on a few dates with Pam before she and Jim started dating. This creates an interesting dynamic between the three characters and makes Jim determined to discover why Danny never called Pam back.
