Debuting on NBC soon from writers Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, the upcoming drama centers on four members of a suburban garden club who are connected thanks to a murder they have to keep hidden. But the dark truth soon begins to emerge, threatening the lives that they’ve built for themselves. The cast is led by AnnaSophia Robb (The Carrie Diaries), Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Aja Naomi King (How to Get Away with Murder), and Ben Rappaport (Mr. Robot).

The Main Characters Are A Mess
The opening narration of the trailer begins with “To make a garden grow, something has to die.” From there, the three characters — Brett (Rappaport), Birdie (Robb), and Catherine (King) — are seen digging a grave. There’s also something that looks suspiciously like a dead body. The teaser then introduces the characters, demonstrating that they have each other’s backs. They have a lot to cover for, however, with Catherine potentially engaging in a secret romance and Alice (Fumero) having an obvious drinking problem.

Hailing from Universal Television, with Bans and Krebs as co-showrunners and executive producers, Grosse Pointe Garden Society seems like the perfect new show to watch if you’re missing Desperate Housewives. The co-showrunners previously worked on the crime dramedy Good Girls, but the biggest draw may just be the talented and familiar cast.
