Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for The Night Agent season 2!The Night Agent promotes three cast members to series regular in season 3. The series, which follows Peter Sutherland’s (Gabriel Basso) journey from an FBI agent monitoring the Night Agent’s phone line in a basement to an active field agent, recently returned for season 2. Ahead of season 2’s premiere, Netflix has given the green light to The Night Agent season 3, with filming having started in Istanbul in 2024.

Jones will be joining the series as Deputy Director Aiden Mosely.
What This Means For The Night Agent Season 3
It Offers An Update On Season 3’s Storyline
In The Night Agent season 2 finale, Chelsea is seen working in Hagan’s security team. With Peter’s new mission set to expose intelligence broker, Jacob Monroe (Louis Herthum), and those associated with him, all signs are pointing toward the White House. Evans-Akingbola and Horton’s season 3 promotion confirms that the two existing characters will take the central stage in the plotline. Jones, on the other hand, is a new cast member, and there’s not a lot to know as of now whether he’ll be friend or foe.

Catherine Made Peter’s Future In The Night Agent Season 3 Much More Complicated
Peter’s mission for The Night Agent season 3 is made extremely more challenging and dangerous due to Catherine’s actions in season 2, episode 9.
The previously announced The Night Agent season 3 cast includes David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Moyer, Genesis Rodriguez, Callum Vinson, and Suraj Sharma as part of a new storyline. On the other hand, Luciane Buchanan, who was a core cast member in the first two seasons, hasn’t confirmed her return as Rose. Showrunner Ryan Shawn has previously discussed the uncertainty of the character’s future, revealing that the script is still unfinished, leaving the answers to many questions still up in the air. The confirmed series regular members seem to indicate a solid development in the new season’s storyline.
Our Take On The Night Agent’s New Series Regulars
Season 3’s Storyline Is Moving Toward The White House
It was previously revealed that Chelsea will play an important role in season 3, which makes Evans-Akingbola’s promotion to the series regular expected. Horton’s promotion, on the other hand, is slightly surprising. With The Night Agent season 2 leaving unanswered questions about the mysterious Monroe, the logical choice is for Herthum to be a series regular. Horton’s promotion seemed to tease that Hagan might be a more dangerous man after all, making him more likely to be the new season’s antagonist.
There’s very little to know about Jones’ involvement in Peter’s new mission. To take a wild guess, his series regular status might be similar to Adrienne Mandi’s character in season 2. Mandi’s Noor is a new character in the season-specific storyline, who turns out to be the key to connecting all the different moving parts in season 2 together. However, fans will have to wait till The Night Agent season 3 to find out more about Jones’ character.
