Anushka Sharma’s brother Karnesh not part of Kohrra 2 | Hindi Movie News

Karnesh Ssharma, the brother of actress Anushka Sharma, has made a mark in the entertainment industry thanks to his projects like Bulbbul, Qala, NH10, Mai, and Paatal Lok. One of his most successful ventures was the 2023 crime thriller Kohrra, a police procedural thriller drama starring Barun Sobti, Harleen Sethi, and Suvinder Vicky. The series, written by Gunjit Chopra and Diggi Sisodia, was co-created and executive-produced by Sudip Sharma.

Following the success of Kohrra, a second season was greenlit, and on Monday evening, the streaming platform released its first teaser. The upcoming season will once again be led by Barun Sobti, this time joined by Mona Singh.

However, a significant change in Kohrra 2 is the absence of Karnesh Ssharma. In the first season, Karnesh’s company, Clean Slate Filmz, was the producer, with him serving as an executive producer alongside Saurabh Malhotra and Manuj Mittra.
For the second season, the production is now being backed by Sudip Sharma, Saurabh Malhotra, Manuj Mittra, and Tina Tharwani. Notably, Saurabh and Tina are well-known for their company, Shaadi Squad, which has planned high-profile weddings for celebrities like Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, Katrina Kaif-Vicky Kaushal, and Shibani Dandekar-Farhan Akhtar.
As for Karnesh’s absence, reports suggest that last year, he had a fallout with the streaming platform over creative differences and budget-related disagreements. This reportedly led to the platform pulling out of projects like Chakda Xpress a biopic of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, starring Anushka Sharma, and Afghani Snow which starred Vijay Varma and Triptii Dimrii, ultimately ending their four-year-long association. This could probably explain why Karnesh is no longer involved with Kohrra 2, while his former co-producers continue to lead the project to its final completion.
