Mamta Kulkarni has been in the news lately for becoming the Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akkhada at MahaKumbh 2025. However, the actress was soon removed from the position. The actress was accused of paying Rs 10 crore to get the position of Mahamandaleshwar. Her appointment was also questioned as a person appointed as Mahamandaleshwar is an expert when it comes of ‘Ved’ and ‘shastras’. The actress recently appeared on a television show and answered all the questions surrounding her.
During this conversation, Mamta was also asked about her spat with Ameesha Patel many years ago, over some non-vegetarian food. Mamta had allegedly told Ameesha, ‘Teri Aukat Kya Hai’ and reportedly, Mamta’s secretary was close to physically assaulting the ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ actress. When asked about it, Mamta told Rajat Sharma on ‘Aap Ki Adalat’, “We were on location for an advertisement shoot over four to five days. Our schedule involved filming during the day and dining in the evening. Dinner was a buffet, which offered only one non-vegetarian option, and even that was unlabelled.”
She added, “I took the non-vegetarian dish because it was the only one. But when I started chewing, my teeth couldn’t bite through it. Mr Bajaj was there, and I said to him – What is this? It’s bad, I’m not able to chew it. He told me it was deer meat. Upon hearing this, I told him that from next time, please put a label.”
Mamta further said, “Because we eat chicken, fish or mutton, but who eats deer meat? But then, this new girl, Ameesha, was standing there. I didn’t even know her. She said – These heroines have so many tantrums, you people have a habit of making a mountain out of a molehill. I thought, who is she to interrupt? I’m not even talking to her. I just looked at her, but my secretary told her – Who are you to interrupt?”
This led to an argument between the two. Sharma then asked Mamta, “That’s why you said in anger – Teri Aukaat Kya Hai?’ (What is your status?) My fee is Rs 15 lakh and yours is Rs 1 lakh?” Reacting to it, Mamta said, “Look, I didn’t say this, my secretary told her. Now, to be honest, you don’t even know what she said. But this happened.”
The ‘Karan Arjun’ actress was quite upset about being served deer meet and was arguing with the waiter and that’s when Ameesha interfered. According to reports, the argument grew to the point where Kulkarni’s secretary allegedly threatened Ameesha physically. Thus Ameesha’s mother had to step in to protect her daughter.
Much later after this incident, when asked about it, Ameesha had said, “Oh no, you are talking of an incident that happened a long time ago. She (Mamta) is dying for some publicity, that’s all. Please don’t bring it up. It’s so dumb to bring up the issue now. Mamta is uselessly getting into a controversy where there is no need to rake up the issue.”
