Three new cast members have boarded The Death of Robin Hood. The upcoming A24 movie presents a new version of the Robin Hood myth, presenting the iconic outlaw (Hugh Jackman) at the end of his life while he is being cared for by a mysterious woman (Jodie Comer) after sustaining an injury. The movie is being directed by Michael Sarnoski, who broke out with his debut feature, the 2021 Nicolas Cage movie Pig, which he followed by helming the blockbuster horror prequel A Quiet Place: Day One.
Per Deadline, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, Noah Jupe have joined the cast of The Death of Robin Hood. This marks something of a Quiet Place franchise reunion, as Jupe starred in the original 2018 movie and its 2021 sequel, though he did not appear in Sarnoski’s installment. At the time of writing, the characters that the three actors will be playing are still under wraps. Production on the movie is set to commence in Ireland this week.
What This Means For The Death Of Robin Hood
It Is Assembling A Well-Regarded Cast
All three stars who are joining The Death of Robin Hood are performers from pedigreed titles, and Bartlett is particularly decorated. Before joining the cast of the Hugh Jackman movie, the star was already well known for his prominent supporting roles in The White Lotus and Welcome to Chippendales, for which he was nominated for an Emmy apiece. He also starred opposite Nick Offerman in the third The Last of Us episode, “Long, Long Time,” which won him his first and so far only Emmy.
In The White Lotus season 1, Murray Bartlett played resort manager Armond, who had a memorable dalliance with staff member Dillon (Lukas Gage).
Skarsgård is another versatile performer who has starred in movies across a variety of genres, including the horror outings Nosferatu and Barbarian and the action titles John Wick: Chapter 4 and The Crow, though he is still perhaps best known for his breakout role as the shapeshifting evil clown Pennywise in the 2017 Stephen King adaptation It and its sequel. Jupe is also known for his genre titles, given his status as a Quiet Place alumnus, but he has also appeared in well-regarded movies and series such as Ford v Ferrari and Franklin.
Our Take On The Death Of Robin Hood Casting Update
The Size Of The Overall Cast Is Still Unknown
With these three new additions, The Death of Robin Hood is beginning to flesh out the world around the main characters. However, the plot synopsis makes it seem as though the A24 movie will largely be a two-hander between Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer, so it is possible that no further stars will be brought on board. Even if that is the case, the incoming performers have enough experience to bring the movie to life with aplomb.
