A new major Marvel Cinematic Universe update has revealed when Avengers: Doomsday will finally start filming. While there hasn’t been an Avengers movie since Phase 3, the MCU timeline is about to change, as Phase 6 will have not one but two new Avengers films as they head into the end of The Multiverse Saga. As Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are in various stages of development, Phase 6 will raise the stakes higher than ever for not just Earth-616 but the whole multiverse.
In a new report from TheWrap, Avengers: Doomsday is reportedly set to start principal photography in England starting in March. Joe and Anthony Russo are set to direct Avengers: Doomsday, as well as Avengers: Secret Wars, with MCU veteran Stephen McFeely writing the screenplay for both films.

If the Avengers: Doomsday cast is looking to start filming in March, it means many great things for the highly-anticipated Phase 6 movie. To begin with, it means that the Avengers: Doomsday screenplay is completed and that Marvel Studios is happy with the direction of the script. Whether or not that means the same for Avengers: Secret Wars remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be shocking if that script is finished or close to being completed.

With Avengers: Doomsday eying principal photography next month, Marvel Studios will likely have more official details soon to reveal who will actually be in the cast. From Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and the heroes of The Fantastic Four: First Steps to Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, there are still plenty of MCU players that have yet to be added to the overall Avengers: Doomsday cast. But if filming starts next month, it means more actors will likely be revealed in upcoming MCU reports, or Marvel Studios will announce themselves.

There Will Be Lots Of Surprises!
With only a couple of more weeks left in February, it will be exciting to see what will come out of Avengers: Doomday’s filming, especially whenever they are shooting on location and outside the studio. Given how much secrecy surrounding the movie, there are bound to be many surprises in store, both in terms of story, but also who will actually end up being part of the film. Hopefully, Marvel Studios will have additional Avengers: Doomsday news to announce over the next few weeks.
