Resident Alien has received a season 4 release window update from star and producer Alan Tudyk. The show, based on the comic book series of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, was released on Syfy in January 2021. Resident Alien‘s cast features Tudyk in the titular role, and focuses on an extraterrestrial who is sent to Earth to wipe out humanity, but develops compassion for humans, eventually defending them from other alien threats. The series has so far run for three seasons and 34 episodes, and in June 2024 the show received a season 4 renewal.
Per The Direct, during a panel appearance at Fan Expo Vancouver 2025, Tudyk and co-star Alice Wetterlund gave their input on the release window for the show’s fourth season. Whilst admitting that they were unsure of a definitive release date, the stars revealed that they believe the new season will drop at the end of 2025. Check out their comments below:
Tudyk: I feel like you should get it before the end of 2025.
Wetterland: Yeah, absolutely. They seem to be speeding things along for that very purpose. We don’t know when, but it feels like they want to air it this year. That is the feeling.
The Show Will Return After Just A Year Off The Air With A New Network
These comments suggest that Resident Alien season 4 is one that the cast have been looking forward to, and are keen to see on the air. The show will be moving to USA Network for season 4, making Resident Alien season 3 the final season to air on Syfy. With the season ending on a cliffhanger, with Harry and Bridget imprisoned on the Moon by the Greys, the Earth is now in peril, and this will no doubt be a prominent plot point that is explored during season 4.
There are numerous Resident Alien season 4 theories, and, with a change of network, it is entirely possible the show could take on a very different direction.
The fact the show will return after only a year suggests that this is a story arc that has been planned for some time, and the writers are looking to execute the plot and character arcs as well as possible, while also getting the show out on a new network quickly. If the season is a success on USA Network, there is every chance Resident Alien can run for several more seasons, and cement its place as one of Tudyk’s best TV shows.
