Barnyard Commandos Are Back With An Animated Show, Toys & More From The Nacelle Company [Exclusive]

The universe is constantly expanding, and so too is The Nacelle Company’s interconnected NacelleVerse, which just grew to include Barnyard Commandos. Initially created by James Groman, who also helped in the development of franchises like Care Bears, My Pet Monster, and Ring Raiders, Barnyard Commandos became an animated series in 1990 and ran for one season. The premise of the series, which will no doubt inspire The Nacelle Company’s use of the characters, was that an abandoned military experiment led to the consumption of radioactive materials by farm animals, ultimately causing them to evolve and mutate into anthropomorphic paramilitary troops.

ScreenRant is excited to share initial information about the NacelleVerse’s latest line to join other resurrected properties like RoboForce. Similarly to other NacelleVerse properties, new Barnyard Commandos stories and collectibles will be made available through the release of new toys, new comics, and an animated series. The Nacelle Company founder and CEO Brian Volk-Weiss appropriately hyped up the reveal, saying “I hope you like pigs with rocket launchers, because that’s what you’ll get when Barnyard Commandos join the NacelleVerse!”

Who Will The Barnyard Commandos Be Joining In The NacelleVerse?

A Quick Look At Nacelle’s Cast Of Characters

The zany concept of Barnyard Commandos is a perfect fit for the larger NacelleVerse. The brand’s characters are far from the only anthropomorphic gun-toting animals in the stable, as the NacelleVerse also contains Biker Mice From Mars, whose name explains them very well and who fight against Plutarkins, invaders who aim to strip their home planet of its natural resources. Closer to home, the NacelleVerse also includes Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa–cows who evolved into a “bovipomorphic” state by the crashing of an irradiated “cow-met” in the 19th century Western plains.

NacelleVerse fans also may find Sectaurs, initially a 1985 toy line about telepathically bonded warriors who fight with the aid of their insect companions, Power Lords, and the revived 1980s brand RoboForce. The latter is one of the first entries in the NacelleVerse, and will be seen on screens as an animated series co-produced with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions. Although most of the NacelleVerse properties are from the 1980s, it also includes The Great Garloo, which dates back to 1961.

The most exciting thing about Barnyard Commandos’ introduction into the NacelleVerse is that The Nacelle Company very much plans to ensure that all of these properties interact with one another. At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Brian Volk-Weiss promised that RoboForce and Biker Mice From Mars would collide during their respective animated series. It’s likely only a matter of time before Barnyard Commandos join the fray.
