Your Friends & Neighbors series creator Jonathan Tropper offers a filming update on season 2 on the heels of its premiere. The new Apple TV+ series, starring Jon Hamm as Coop, a rich executive who turns to petty theft after losing his job, is currently rolling out new episodes. Ahead of its premiere, the streamer confirmed Your Friends & Neighbors had already been renewed for season 2.

Now, in an interview with Cinemablend, Tropper shared that they are gearing up for Your Friends & Neighbors season 2’s production. The creator explained that they were “well ahead” in the process, having finished “eight scripts” and are heading into production “frighteningly soon.” He also revealed some of the lessons they learned from season 1, namely regarding its tone. Read his comment below:

We’re very far. We’re well ahead in that process. We’ve got eight scripts written, and we’re looking to go into production very soon, like frighteningly soon. In terms of lessons, I think we just learned really where we have to safeguard the tone of the show, and how carefully we have to watch out, that we never veer too far comedic, too far dramatic, that we really maintain that really careful line we’re maintaining of a comedic drama or a dramatic comedy, that puts the characters first. And I think, in post-production, we may have found a few places we had to clean up a little bit with the tone, and that’s the thing we’re really going to watch.

More to come…
