Fallout star Aaron Moten has revealed how many seasons are planned for the video game adaptation not long after season 2 of the TV show wrapped filming. Season 1 of the post-apocalyptic series was released in April 2024, with the series quickly getting renewed not long after all its episodes dropped. Fallout season 2 wrapped filming in early May 2025, although there’s been no confirmation yet as to when the new episodes of the series are going to come out. However, the next story arc is going to further expand the series’ world.
Now, a video from Reddit user TOZAR_N7 shows Moten speaking at Liverpool Comic Con, revealing how many seasons Fallout has been planned for. The actor, who plays Maximus, revealed the TV series is planned to end either with season 5 or season 6. He explained that the series does have an ending in mind, but that it will take quite some time to get there as the characters and their storylines are further explored. Check out what Moten had to say below:
When I signed on to do the series, we would have a starting point and then they gave me the endpoint. And that endpoint hasn’t changed. But it is season 5, 6 type of endpoint, you know? We’ve always known we’re going to take our time with the development of the characters.
What Moten’s Statement Means For Fallout’s Future
Season 2 Is Far From The End
Moten’s statement is reflective of just how much of the world of the video game series the TV show can explore in years to come. Fallout season 1 ended by laying the groundwork for Fallout: New Vegas-inspired elements in season 2 because of Hank (Kyle MacLachlan), something that will continue to expand the series. It also sets the stage for a new chapter in the major characters’ journeys, with Maximus, Lucy (Ella Purnell), and Cooper (Walton Goggins) no doubt encountering new challenges as their journey continues.

Fallout’s New Vegas Tease Is Awesome, But Now I’m Having A Harder Time Waiting For Season 2
Fallout was popular with video game fans as well as those who were not familiar with the franchise, and this New Vegas tease is exciting for both.
The idea of the series running through season 5 or season 6 is within the realm of possibility, especially since the characters in Fallout have plenty of potential for multi-season arcs. Although the show hasn’t officially been renewed for anything beyond season 2, the initial success of season 1 could carry over into its future, allowing for the show to last for quite some time. This is even more promising with a plan for such a long story already in place, and with the ending mapped out right from the start.
Our Take On Fallout’s Multi-Season Plan
Many More Adventures Await Its Band Of Heroes
Since it sounds like Fallout could be around for quite some time, it seems many more adventures are planned for the show’s core heroes. Although it’s unclear when season 2 will arrive and what it could mean for the release of possible future seasons, the adaptation’s long-term plan is a good sign for its future. As long as the series maintains the success of season 1, the show will probably be around for a long time to come.
