Alappuzha Gymkhana trailer: Khalid Rahman’s coming-of-age sports comedy will see Naslen of Premalu-fame play a boxer. Take a look.

Directed by Khalid Rahman, Naslen will be seen alongside a bunch of young actors like Lukman Avaran, Ganapathi, rapper Baby Jean and Anagha Ravi in the movie, which revolves around a set of friends who decide to learn boxing to crack their college admission from sports quota.
The film’s trailer, which was released on Wednesday, revolves around their adventure as they embark on their boxing journey in Kerala’s Alappuzha district. Sreeni Saseendran and Rahman wrote the film.
Khalid, known for his versatile outings like the Mammootty-starrer Unda and the Tovino Thomas-starrer Thallumaala, has retained his team from the latter, including his music director Vishnu Vijay, cinematographer Jimshi Khalid, and editor, late Nishad Yusuf.
Recent work
Naslen, who debuted in 2019 with Thanneer Mathan Dinangal, gained fame outside Kerala with the 2024 film Premalu. The adorable rom-com saw him play Sachin Santhosh, a young boy looking to find love and have a good career. Mamitha Baiju played Reenu Roy, his love interest in the film.
After that, Naslen also starred in I Am Kathalan, in which he played Vishnu ‘Kathalan’. The film was not as successful as Premalu. The actor plays Jojo in Alappuzha Gymkhana and will also star in the sequel of Premalu, which will also be released in Telugu like its predecessor.
The Malayalam actor has also given his nod to star in Dominic Arun’s yet-to-be-titled film with Kalyani Priyadarshan. It remains to be seen when that film will be released in theatres and what other projects Naslen has signed.
