Bengali actor Pleasure Banerjee died at a hospital in Kolkata on Monday on the age of 63, his household mentioned. Banerjee was admitted to the personal hospital on August 15 with acute respiratory issues. He was affected by Persistent Obstructive Pulmonary Illness (COPD).
His situation worsened step by step, and he was on ventilator help over the previous few days. Banerjee, who fought elections on a BJP ticket, handed away at 11.35 am. He has been survived by his spouse and mom.
A matinee idol of the ’80s and ’90s, he had given Tollywood a string of hits, reminiscent of Hirak Jayanti (1990), Milan Tithi (1985), and Nagmati (1983), in addition to the critically acclaimed Chopper (1986).
He fought the 2014 and 2019 elections from the Birbhum and Uluberia seats, respectively, on a BJP ticket. Nonetheless, he give up politics in November 2021.
TMC MP Satabdi Roy, his co-actor in lots of movies, mentioned, “I’m shattered. I knew Pleasure was ailing for fairly a while, and all of us had been praying for his restoration.” Union minister Sukanta Majumdar condoled Banerjee’s premature demise.
