Brandon Sklenar’s Batman Fan-Casting Comes To Life To Adapt One Of DC’s Most Famous Comic Stories Alongside Jason Todd In New DCU Art

Brandon Sklenar becomes Batman of James Gunn’s DC Universe through new The Brave and The Bold artwork while seeing a live-action adaptation of a famous Jason Todd storyline. As Bruce Wayne is one of the heroes who will get reimagined for Gunn’s DCU franchise, many fans are actively waiting to learn who will be donning the cape and cowl in the rebooted DC continuity. One Hollywood star who is becoming a popular candidate for the role is Sklenar, as The Brave and The Bold remains in active development.

Sklenar has opened up about the fact that he is more than game to join the DCU as the next live-action version of the Caped Crusader, which has prompted more fan-art to emerge for The Brave and The Bold. Showing what the It Ends with Us star could look like as Gunn’s Batman, John Regan shared new artwork for The Brave and The Bold while adapting an incredibly iconic Robin storyline. Check it out below:

The Brave and The Bold art depicts what a live-action adaptation of A Death in the Family would look like in Gunn’s DCU, featuring the tragic death of Jason Todd, a.k.a. the second Robin, played by Louis Partridge in this scenario, while also imagining Sklenar with various versions of the Batsuit. The Titans TV show did a reimagined take of A Death in the Family with Curran Walters’ Jason, which led to him becoming Red Hood.

What The Brandon Sklenar’s Batman Art Means For The DCU

While time will tell if Sklenar will become the Batman of the DCU timeline, it’s becoming clear that many are getting behind the fan-casting of him as the next Dark Knight. Even though a lot of details about Batman’s DCU story are being kept under wraps, Gunn and DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran have established that the Bruce of this franchise will be far into his crusade as a superhero. As The Brave and The Bold will explore the father/son dynamic between Bruce and Damian Wayne, it also appears to be setting up the concept of the larger Bat-Family.

Even though it hasn’t been confirmed which members will be in The Brave and The Bold movie, the announcement back in January 2023 teased that some Bat-Family characters will be showing up in one way or another. Fan-art pieces drawing from the likes of comic stories like A Death in the Family also shows that the audience is ready to see various aspects of the Bat-Family lore be adapted in Gunn’s DCU timeline. Given that Damian is getting introduced in The Brave and The Bold, it wouldn’t be shocking if Jason’s death had already happened at this point.

Our Take On Brandon Sklenar’s Batman Art

The Brave and The Bold art showcases the potential Sklenar would have in the DCU if he were to be cast as Batman – especially since the art shows him in a selection of different iterations of the famous Batsuit. It would also be a major moment in Batman film history to see A Death in the Family adapted for the big screen, given its huge role in the DC lore. Hopefully, as 2025 progresses forward, DC Studios will ideally have more updates on The Brave and The Bold sooner rather than later.
