On Twitter, the first reactions to Captain America: Brave New World have started to pour in, painting a complicated picture of the MCU movie. The reactions vary greatly, alternating between comparing the Captain America film to beloved superhero movies like The Dark Knight and claiming the new MCU entry is dull and not fun at all. ScreenRant‘s Alex Leadbeater was not a fan of the Captain America movie, calling it “a dour thriller-lite afraid of saying anything.”
WongUpdates was more excited about Captain America: Brave New World, claiming “it’s a mix of [Captain America: The] Winter Soldier and The Dark Knight.”
Sean Chandler has mixed feelings, saying it is the most cohesive the MCU has been since 2019 but also calling the Leader a disappointing villain.
Cris Parker thinks Anthony Mackie was great as Captain America and the serious tone worked, but the MCU movie felt empty.
