Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch Just Had A Surprise 2025 Return And I Know Exactly How It Could Lead To Avengers: Doomsday

Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch has returned in an unpredictable way that I believe shows how the character could connect to Avengers: Doomsday. Olsen has become one of Hollywood’s most prominent stars over the past decade, being part of awards circuits and becoming a fan-favorite of Marvel Cinematic Universe fans as Wanda Maximoff. Sadly, Scarlet Witch’s MCU journey was cut short when she died at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, there is no way she will not be back.

Many theories about Avengers: Doomsday‘s story have been around how the Scarlet Witch could make her MCU return in the movie. After all, Scarlet Witch does have quite the connection to Doctor Doom in the comics, though I can’t see the MCU going for a romantic bond between Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom after the Vision romance was explored in WandaVision. After all the theories, a new reveal has come as Wanda returns in 2025, and the MCU’s upcoming Avengers movies could reveal that the Scarlet Witch was alive all along.

Scarlet Witch’s Recent 2025 Return Explained

The MCU’s Wanda Maximoff Story Gains A Surprise New Chapter

Olsen’s Scarlet Witch is alive and has returned, but not in the way I would have expected it to happen. Instead of doing so in an MCU movie or TV show, the character came back in Marvel Comics. In “TVA (2024) #3,” the comic book series co-written by Katharyn Blair, who was a writer on Disney+’s Loki, revealed a Scarlet Witch in Olsen’s full Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness look in a stasis pod at the TVA’s archives. The comic book has referenced MCU events before, and the TVA could pave the way for Wanda’s MCU future.

How Scarlet Witch’s TVA Return Could Lead To An Avengers: Doomsday Role

Wanda Is Valuable To The MCU In Many Ways

It would make sense for the TVA to be holding the MCU’s Scarlet Witch. After Loki season 2, the organization is now in charge of protecting the multiverse. Given her past multiversal rampage, Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff is a danger to all universes. If the MCU’s Scarlet Witch is the same one in the TVA comic book story, or they are variants who share a similar fate, then Avengers: Doomsday would have a very easy path to bringing Wanda back into the fold. I think she could be the TVA’s “break glass in case of emergency” weapon.

Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch has returned in an incredibly unexpected way that explains how she could be alive in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga.

When Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom wreaks havoc across the multiverse, the Avengers will need all the help they can get. Doom is one of Marvel Comics’ most talented magic users. As such, the MCU’s heroes would be up against a villain well-trained in magic and with vast multiverse knowledge, which makes Olsen’s Scarlet Witch the perfect character to take him down, as she also possesses the same features. Like in the comic book, the TVA could play a role in Avengers: Doomsday by putting together a multiversal team of heroes. That is perfect for Scarlet Witch‘s MCU redemption journey.
