First Final Destination 6 Teaser Trailer Ominously References Pitch The New Directors Used To Sell Their Vision For The Movie

Ahead of its first full-length trailer, the first teaser for Final Destination: Bloodlines has been revealed, and it calls back to an infamous pitch that helped secure the franchise’s big screen return. The horror series focuses on groups of survivors who narrowly avoid their deaths in terrifying events, only to die one-by-one in gruesome freak accidents as punishment for cheating Death. Fourteen years after its last installment, Final Destination: Bloodlines is set to release on May 16, helmed by directing duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein.

The Final Destination: Bloodlines X/Twitter account has released the first teaser for the upcoming feature:

In the post, a short video focuses on a turning ceiling fan, as various chains clang in the background. While only a brief clip, the video is a nod to a short sequence Lipovsky and Stein made to pitch their vision.

When pitching their approach to the franchise to executives at New Line Cinema through a Zoom call, Lipovsky and Stein were suddenly left encountering a blaze from the fireplace behind them, only for a ceiling fan above them to fall from the ceiling to decapitate one half of the directing duo. The pair had used visual effects and prerecorded footage to surprise the executives with a practical demonstration of their vision. The stunt proved a success and the impressed execs greenlit the new Final Destination movie with Lipovsky and Stein as directors.

What Final Destination: Bloodline’s Ceiling Fan Teaser Means For The Movie

The Ceiling Fan Sequence Could Ensure The Movie’s Bigger Secrets Remain Hidden

Though the background behind the first trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines may only be recognized by those who are dedicated to the franchise and in the know about the production timeline, it is an incredibly positive sign for the new movie. While the sequence created for Lipovsky and Stein’s pitch surprise existed as a showcase of how the pair would handle the series’ trademark freak accidents, the fact that the sequence is potentially finding its way into the movie itself is a good indicator of the infamous scenes’ quality that it was accepted into the final cut.
