A new look at the upcoming Superman movie has been released. The new DC Universe will soon see the release of its first film, and Warner Bros. Discovery has a lot depending on Superman‘s success. Director James Gunn previously talked about how the movie’s performance will reveal whether his plans for the DCU’s Chapter One and beyond make it to the big and small screens. While a first teaser trailer has been publicly revealed, showing the first look at David Corenswet’s Superman and more iconic DC characters in action, a new exclusive look has now been shared.
At CinemacCon, where ScreenRant is in attendance, new footage from James Gunn’s Superman has been revealed, and it features the hero being healed. The sequence continues the moment seen in the teaser trailer where Krypto saves the Man of Steel by carrying him to the Fortress of Solitude. Aside from Superman being healed by automatons and the power of the sun, the footage jumps around to show other characters from Superman‘s large cast before going to Clark Kent and Lois Lane in an intimate moment and ending with Superman taking flight. Check out the Superman movie footage description below:
The Superman movie footage begins with a couple shots of snow and ice, and then Superman crashing down. He’s wheezing, bleeding, and can’t move. Then he whistles very loudly. We can see Krypto in the distance running towards Superman. He gets there and keeps bumping into Superman, who begs Krypto to stop, because he’s in pain. “Krypto, take me home. Home”
Krypto barks and runs around, grabs Superman’s cape and begins dragging him. In the distance, we see the ice break out from the ground — the Fortress of Solitude. Krypto barks and the door (which has Superman’s emblem on it) opens. Multiple bots come running, “Superman!” They carry Superman into an OR-type room, which beams the sun down on him. As they carry him, he thanks the bots. “We mere automatons are here to serve,” one responds. Superman looks at one of them and that bot says, “Oh he looked at me!”
We then see a couple of shots from the trailer, but then a scene in a living room with Lois and Clark. “Superman,” Lois says. “Ms. Lane,” Clark responds, thus indicating he has revealed his identity. We see several shots of all the superheroes in the movie, including Hawkgirl flying and Guy Gardner using his ring/powers. The trailer ends with Krypto whining in the background and Superman then flying away from the Fortress.
