The X-Men movie may have finally found a director as a new Marvel Cinematic Universe report reveals a major update about the reboot. With The Multiverse Saga nearing its end, Marvel Studios is getting closer to finally bringing in the famous X-Men characters on a full-time basis, as a reboot for the mutants has been in the works for quite some time. While Michael Lesslie was hired to write the X-Men movie script, there had been little progress on the film until now.
In a new report from Deadline, Marvel Studios has reportedly entered “early talks” with Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier to helm the X-Men movie. According to Deadline, while it is unknown “where things stand in the dealmaking process,” Schreier had a meeting with Marvel Studios last week that, per the trade, has led him to emerge as “the top choice” for the gig. At the time of this story’s publication, Marvel Studios and Disney have not commented on Schreier’s potential X-Men hiring, likely because he is not signed on for the film yet.
