New 2025 Horror Thriller Sets Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score Record For Sophie Thatcher

Sophie Thatcher has not been active in Hollywood for long, but she is already building a powerful theatrical legacy, as seen with her latest Rotten Tomatoes record. At just 24, she has starred in a wide swath of horror movies. She first began her career at 15 years old with a one-off role in a Chicago P.D. episode in 2016. She quickly found her niche, going on to appear in two episodes of The Exorcist. Ever since, she has been a constant presence in horror movies and TV shows.

Since 2020, she has starred in Yellowjackets, The Boogeyman, and Heretic. Additionally, she enjoyed a small cameo in MaXXXine. She has also been cast in several genre movies and shows, including a three-episode The Book of Boba Fett role. While she has taken one-off roles in non-horror productions, she is generally dedicated to exploring the darker elements of humanity. Her most recent role has seen her as the leading star of a critically renowned science fiction horror movie.

Sophie Thatcher Sets A New Personal Record On Rotten Tomatoes

Thatcher Has Never Had Such A High Score

Thatcher had the opportunity to star in Companion, which was just released on January 31. The Companion cast is exceptional and includes Thatcher, Jack Quaid (The Boys), Rupert Friend (The Death of Stalin), and more. The entire concept involves Thatcher playing an unsuspecting robot, who tragically believes that she is truly a living human being. After realizing the truth, Thatcher resorts to violence as she turns on her sponsor. Companion has earned exceptional reviews, and it resulted in the highest Rotten Tomatoes audience score in Thatcher’s career, a 91%, as of the time of writing:

So far, Thatcher has done well in choosing her projects, as she has not had a Rotten movie since 2019’s The Tomorrow Man. This latest movie is the greatest, as no other film in her career has earned higher Popcornmeter or Tomatometer scores. Only Heretic crossed the 90% threshold with its 91% Tomatometer score, but it still struggled to capture audience respect. Companion, meanwhile, has reached that mark in both categories. Thatcher’s shows are somewhat different, as Yellowjackets secured a 97% Tomatometer score. Even Companion simply could not meet that exceptional mark.

Our Take On Sophie Thatcher’s Rotten Tomatoes Record

It Is Entirely Deserved

Thatcher has proven to be an extraordinary actor, and her performance certainly helped to contribute to Companion‘s success. The reviewers praised the movie’s humor, intelligence, and visuals. Any project with this concept easily could have suffered a redundant concept, but Thatcher’s performance truly helped to bring her robot to life. That it helped to provide a Rotten Tomatoes record is only a sign of just how impressive she has been since she first debuted in Hollywood. If she can maintain this pace, she should easily secure an even greater score someday.
