Robert Pattinson is not happy with how long The Batman – Part II is taking to get made. The first movie in director’s Matt Reeves trilogy of Batman movies was released in 2022. Since then, no significant updates about The Batman – Part II‘s story have been released. While some of the original film’s cast is confirmed to return, that is the extent of what is known about the sequel. The Batman – Part II was originally set to debut in October 2025, later being pushed to 2026, before arriving at its October 1, 2027, date. Those delays have not been received well.

Speaking with HERO Magazine, Robert Pattinson poked fun at The Batman – Part II‘s delays. The main draw of his version of Batman was how the audience got to see a rookie Bruce Wayne, who made mistakes and rose above them. Pattinson was 33 when The Batman started filming in January 2020. The actor is now 38, with filming for the sequel tentatively scheduled for later in the year, so Pattinson’s comment about how he will be “old Batman” in the sequel makes sense. As he will be 39 when the upcoming DC film starts shooting, the delays are hurting the franchise’s story. Check out the full quote below:

“Naomi Ackie: It’s amazing. And obviously, you’re Batman – are you going to do Batman again soon?

Robert Pattinson: I fucking hope so. [laughs] I started out as young Batman, and I’m going to be fucking old Batman by the sequel. [both laugh]”
