Antony Starr has shared his reaction to The Boys season 5 ending as the cast gets the show’s final scripts, hinting at what to expect from how it ends. The Boys season 5 will be the final stretch for the Prime Video superhero TV show, featuring its titular group going up against Homelander (Starr) and the heroes of Vought. Season 4 ended on a major cliffhanger, with most members of the group kidnapped as the antagonistic Supe is put in charge of a superhuman task force as President Steven Calhoun (David Andrews) declares martial law.
Speaking with Collider, Starr explained his reaction to The Boys season 5 ending as he and the rest of the cast got the series’ final scripts. The actor emphasized how unpredictable the final episodes are going to be, explaining that he’s read through the first six episodes so far. It’s strange because as much as I love the show, I don’t like seeing things outstay their welcome, so I’m kind of glad we’re finishing at five, and that’s it. I love the show and the characters, so it’s a bittersweet moment.
But the scripts, I’ve got to say, in typical Boys fashion, I never see it coming with this show. Every time I think I know what’s going to happen, something else happens. This was no exception, these last scripts.
I’m six deep. I haven’t seen the penultimate finale yet, but I know what happens, and I think fans are going to be either surprised or shocked, depending on their nervous system, but very, very entertained.

The Final Episodes Are Entirely Unpredictable
The Boys season 4 ended with Homelander getting all the power he’d ever wanted, aided by Sage (Susan Heyward), who used her intelligence to manipulate him into a higher position. With most of the show’s title group captured, save for Annie (Erin Moriarty) and Butcher (Karl Urban), it seems he’s closer to winning than he’s ever been before. However, the way season 5 plays out means his victory might be short-lived, depending on how the main heroes can fight back despite most of them being captured.
