Daniel Blake actor Michael Gandolfini raises anticipation for Daredevil: Born Again episode 9, where Jon Bertnhal’s Frank Castle will let out his full Punisher for the first time in the MCU proper.
In an interview with Inverse, Michael Gandolfini talked about his casting process for Daredevil: Born Again, his first conversations with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, and his reunion with The Many Saints of Newark co-star Jon Bernthal, with whom he spent a lot of time behind the scenes despite not sharing scenes together. Gandolfini’s real-life friendship with Bernthal allowed him to witness the Punisher’s most exciting scene, which will take place in Daredevil: Born Again episode 9. “Me and JB, we went boxing — and this is when they were still talking to him about doing it. We were sort of both having this moment of like, ‘Oh my God, we’re going to do this thing. What’s it going to be like?’ Trying to figure out where it was going… We talked about it quite a lot. I hung out in his trailer every day. When he was on set, we just hung out all the time (…) I know the insanity that awaits. People are going to lose their minds.”
