Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies revealed when the mysterious Mrs. Flood will appear in season 15, teasing possible answers about her. Out of every major character in Doctor Who right now, Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson) has the most obscurity and intrigue surrounding her. Originally introduced as the neighbor of Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), it’s soon revealed she knows the identity of the Doctor and has knowledge of the TARDIS. In season 14, episode 8, when she’s temporarily disintegrated by Sutekh, she speaks of having “plans” that haven’t come to fruition yet. Having been saved, these plans remain unclear.
Speaking with SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar), Davies revealed that Mrs. Flood will be showing up in all eight episodes of Doctor Who season 15. The showrunner explained how she’ll be showing up in some of the most unexpected places, while also teasing “answers” about her purpose in the series. Check out what Davies had to say below:
There are answers, there are spectacular answers. She’s at her finest. And you will see her every single week – she’s in every single episode. You won’t ever quite know where and when to expect her…
What Mrs. Flood’s Appearances Mean For Doctor Who Season 15
She Might Play An Important Role In The Story
The story of Doctor Who season 15 will follow the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) as he travels across time and space to bring his newest companion, Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu), back home. While the contents of his upcoming adventures have yet to be revealed, Davies’ confirmation that Mrs. Flood will appear in every episode signals that she may be involved in the core story. All that’s known for sure is that she has her own plans tied to the Doctor, something her appearance in every episode will seemingly provide more info about.
