Warning: Spoilers for Dragon Ball Daima, Episode #16Dragon Ball Daima‘s big villain, Gomah, has just obtained a dark new transformation, granting him untold levels of power. This new form spells trouble for Goku and friends, who’ll have to really work if they hope to defeat this powerful new Gomah.
Unlike most new forms seen in Dragon Ball, Gomah’s new form has nothing to do with training. Instead, Gomah has made use of an ancient magical artifact known as the Third Eye, which was thought to be lost after Dabura’s scheme to overthrow his father. The Third Eye turned out to have been found by Hybis, Goku’s native guide from the Third Demon World, and Gomah managed to recognize it on his belt buckle. After getting Hybis to trade his belt for a new hat, the Third Eye finally made its way to Gomah’s hands, and now the villain had access to the phenomenal magic power it holds.
The Third Eye Grants Tremendous Power
Gomah’s New Form is Thanks to the Third Eye’s Power
In episode #16, Gomah was given the Third Eye by the Glind woman who took it from Hybis, in exchange for whatever riches she could carry out of the palace with her. Gomah had a hard time extracting the eye from Hybis’s belt, but eventually found a way to do so using a plunger. He then had the Glind woman push the Third Eye into his forehead, which caused him to grow massive, taking on a new, taller and more muscular appearance, signifying the power of the Third Eye flowing into his body. While fans never get a clear look at Gomah’s new form in the episode, it’s obvious he’s far more of a threat than before.
The Third Eye was already known to be extremely powerful, but this is the first time it’s been seen in use. The artifact has been used by the Supreme Demon Kings of the Demon Realm for ages, last used by Dabura’s father Abura before it was stolen. With the artifact, it’s known that Dabura stood no chance against his father, but without it, he was able to depose Abura easily, showing just how much it could increase an individual’s power.
Gomah’s Terrifying New Power Makes Him a Worthy Opponent
Gomah is Finally Looking Worthy of Being the Final Foe
It’s fair to admit at this point that Gomah was hardly the most imposing villain in Dragon Ball history, with his comedic reactions and small stature making him seem like a joke. Most fans were convinced the final enemy was likely to be Majin Kuu and/or Duu, but with the Third Eye in his possession, Gomah’s new form finally makes him a foe worthy of being the final opponent in a Dragon Ball story arc.
While the true extent of Gomah’s new power has yet to be revealed, Gomah has clearly taken on a form that will allow him to challenge Goku directly. With the next episode’s title bearing Gomah’s name, it seems like Dragon Ball Daima fans won’t have to wait long to see the clash between Goku and Gomah unfold.
