Foundation Season 3 Trailer Reveals Release Date & Lee Pace At War 152 Years After The Events Of Season 2

The Foundation season 3 trailer reveals a release date and Lee Pace’s Brother Day at war 152 years after the events of season 2. Based on the books by Isaac Asimov, Apple TV’s expansive sci-fi series follows the centuries-spanning saga of a group of exiles who attempt to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the downfall of the Galactic Empire. Foundation‘s cast includes Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann, Cassian Bilton, and Alexander Siddig.

Now, Apple TV has released the first official teaser trailer for Foundation season 3, revealing a July 11 release date. Set 152 years after the events of season 2, the trailer finds the Foundation having grown far beyond its modest origins, while the once-dominant Cleonic Empire has weakened. As the two galactic powers form a fragile alliance, a new and terrifying threat emerges in the form of “The Mule,” a ruthless warlord determined to conquer the galaxy through brute force, military might, and mind control.

With the fate of the universe hanging in the balance, Hari Seldon (Jared Harris), Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell), Demerzel (Laura Birn), and the Cleons find themselves in a high-stakes and deadly game of interstellar strategy, where the outcome is anything but certain. Watch the trailer below:

Another Time Jump Is In Store

The third season is set 152 years after the Foundation season 2 ending, which will be the show’s second significant time jump after the leap between the first two seasons. The latest leap sets the stage for the arc involving The Mule, a powerful mentalic who was originally fated to kill Salvor Hardin (Leah Harvey). Adding to the drama, the show’s central figure, Hari Sheldon, died during season 2, but has been resurrected in the season 3 trailer.
