Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker Confirmed For Ahsoka Season 2

Hayden Christensen’s return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in Ahsoka season 2 has officially been confirmed in a Star Wars Celebration 2025 panel including Dave Filoni, Rosario Dawson, and Hayden Christensen. Ahsoka season 2 is among the most highly anticipated of Star Wars upcoming TV shows, and there has been plenty of speculation about characters who could appear in Ahsoka season 2. Now, Dave Filoni himself has provided direct confirmation of Ahsoka season 2’s cast.

In fact, during this panel, not only was it confirmed that Hayden Christensen will be returning as Anakin Skywalker in Ahsoka season 2, but also, a host of other major (and several very unexpected) characters will be joining him as well. Among those names are Admiral Ackbar and Zeb Orrelios, who was a major part of the Ghost crew in Star Wars Rebels but was missing from Ahsoka season 1. Although Christensen’s exact role in Ahsoka season 2 remains unknown for now, this is exactly the news many were hoping to hear.

This era sees Anakin as a fully redeemed Force Ghost, which not only means getting to see an entirely new version of Anakin but also arguably means he is at his most powerful. Of all the thrilling announcements at Star Wars Celebration, this was the specific news I was hoping to hear confirmed this weekend. There have been so many hints of late that Christensen would be making a return to Star Wars, and after the Ahsoka season 1 finale, Ahsoka season 2 was the obvious best fit. While I’m holding out hope even this appearance won’t be Christensen’s last in Star Wars, I am beyond thrilled to get this confirmation.
