High Potential season 2 gets an update from lead star and producer Kaitlin Olson. It was no surprise when ABC formally renewed High Potential season 2, with the crime drama emerging as one of TV’s biggest hits for its debut year. Averaging over 10 million viewers per episode and based on the French series HPI, the story centers on Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson). Highly perceptive and gifted with intellectual abilities, Morgan agrees to assist the police on their cases in exchange for help with a case that is very personal to her.
According to Collider, during a recent screening of High Potential in London, Olson shared that season 2 will begin filming in May. In the quote below, the three-time Emmy nominee breaks down her upcoming projects which include the long-running It’s Always Sunny in Philidelphia and her recurring role as DJ Vance in the acclaimed comedy Hacks. But it won’t be long before she’s back as Morgan:
“I just wrapped Hacks… yeah so season four just finished, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia… I finished the end of last year – Season 17 is coming out… in the spring, I believe. And I’m gonna go home and be a mum for a couple months and then we start shooting this again in May.”
What High Potential Season 2 Means For The Show
Morgan Meets Her Match
The hit series, from creator Drew Goddard and showrunner Todd Harthan, wraps with a surprise. The finale of High Potential season 1 is tense, even putting one of Morgan’s team at risk. The bulk of the episode is spent with the question of who might be responsible for the attacks, which are a test of Morgan’s smarts. Although she thinks that she’s figured it out, it’s revealed that the attacker may be someone that Morgan knows. He may be just as smart. But unlike her, he uses his powers for nefarious purposes.

That’s not the only dangling thread from the finale. There’s a major break related to Roman, Morgan’s ex, who has gone missing. But it’s the last thing viewers hear before the episode ends, leaving an open question as to what happens next.

Our Take On High Potential Season 2
There’s High Hopes
The crime drama closed in style. Rather than settle into a predictable rhythm, like broadcast network shows often do, the second half of High Potential leaned into a variety of different cases. There were familiar guests, attempts to deepen the backstory, and great attempts to tweak the established formula. The confidence way the adaptation wrapped up bodes well for season 2.
